Dr. Richard Lin, DO
Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon
Dr. Richard Lin is the founder of Orthopaedic Associates of Southern California. Dr. Lin completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis and medical school at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He finished his residency in orthopedic surgery within the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System in New York where he served as chief resident. He completed his spine fellowship training at the world-renowned University of California, San Diego where he was involved in resident education and the operative management of United States Olympic athletes. During his training, he has given scientific poster presentations to the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and AO Spine North America.
Dr. Lin specializes in the management of adult spinal disorders and procedures aimed at the alleviation of nerve-induced pain coming from the spine. Additionally, he has specific interest in the management of adult spinal deformity secondary to degenerative changes.
He believes in exhausting all conservative measures before undergoing surgical intervention and has been trained as a minimally invasive spine surgeon. Dr. Lin is able to approach the spine from numerous directions – the front, back, and even the side making him unique by placing him on the very cutting edge of spine surgery.
Dr. Shail Vyas, MD
Sports & Arthroscopy
Dr. Shail Vyas is the co-founder of Orthopaedic Associates of Southern California. He is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic procedures. He received his medical degree from UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Vyas has special skills in arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery. He enjoys treating problems of the knee that involve ligament, cartilage, or meniscal pathology. He is an expert in single and double-bundle ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction. He also is an expert in treating shoulder problems such as rotator cuff injury, impingement, labral injuries, shoulder dislocations, and shoulder instability. He is adept at operative and non-operative treatment of orthopaedic ailments including general orthopaedic problems and fractures. He also manages concussion syndrome.
Dr. Jaron Anderson, MD
Hand, Shoulder, & Upper Extremity
Dr. Jaron Andersen grew up in the mountain states of Colorado and Utah. He is the oldest of four children. Dr Andersen participated in athletics during most of his upbringing and was a first-team Utah state high school football player at the position of offensive tackle and tight end. As a result of his interest in the human
body, the sciences, and his desire to solve problems based in objective reality, he
decided to go to medical school and moved to Southern California to attend
USC Keck School of Medicine in 2001. He would eventually attend orthopedic residency at USC as well.
In 2010, Dr Andersen attended the well-respected Shoulder/Elbow fellowship at the
Florida Orthopedic Institute, where he learned from Mark Frankle, MD about rotator
cuff surgery, shoulder replacements, and other technical aspects of upper extremity
surgery. He performed over 300 shoulder replacement surgeries in that year of
Today Dr. Andersen continues to participate in regular exercise, reading novels, and finding fun things to do with his kids. He is keenly interested in sports, home and automobile repair, and 3D printing.
Dr. Gina Mosich, MD
Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement
Dr. Mosich completed her undergraduate training at the University of California, Santa Barbara and attended medical school at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California where she graduated with Dean’s Honors. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles. While completing her training she earned many honors and awards including being chosen to attend the prestigious American Orthopedic Association Resident Leadership Forum. She has written and presented multiple peer reviewed publications as well as book chapters in her field of expertise. She completed her fellowship in Joint Replacement and Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
Dr. Mosich has an expertise in diagnosing and treating complicated injuries and diseases of the hip and the knee, including performing complex primary and revision surgeries. She is qualified in all approaches to the hip and knee, including minimally invasive techniques. She has also trained extensively in robotic and computer navigation assisted joint replacement surgery and believes that these advancing technologies are the valuable in providing patient specific joint replacement options. Above all, Dr. Mosich believes in treating all patients with compassion and dignity and providing each with the highest level of care.
Dr. Mosich is a Southern California native who enjoys a busy lifestyle centered around spending time with her family. She enjoys reading, swimming, cycling, and horseback riding.
Dr. Tuan Tran, MD
Hand & Plastic Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Tran was raised in Sacramento, California and has moved around the country and explored the world. He attended medical school at Tufts University in Boston and earned MD and MBA degrees. Dr. Tran completed his General Surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. During his residency, his interest for reconstructive surgery grew immensely when he assisted in head and neck, trunk and breast reconstruction after big oncologic extirpation.
Following his interest, Dr. Tran trained at the University of Miami’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program. As he approached the end of training, he developed an interest in being a well-rounded and complete surgeon, one who can treat and manage peripheral nerves, bone and joint diseases in addition to internal organs and soft tissues. He then decided to pursue an orthopedic hand fellowship at the University of California Davis. Dr. Tran is board certified in hand and plastic reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Trisha Patel, MD
Anesthesia & Pain Management
Dr. Patel is fellowship trained in Interventional Pain Management. She specializes in minimally invasive treatment of chronic back and neck pain. She is an expert at evaluating and treating bulging/herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, sacro-iliac (SI) joint pain, facet pain, spondylolisthesis, coccyx (tailbone) pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, elbow pain, hip pain and many others. Amongst other forms of treatment, Dr. Patel is expertly trained to perform minimally invasive procedures using a fluoroscope such as epidural injections, radiofrequency ablations, facet injections, spinal cord stimulators, pain pumps, stem cell injections, platelet rich plasma injections, and dozens of other treatments. She is also an anesthesiologist which gives her special insight into safe pain reducing techniques. Dr. Patel has published multiple articles in peer reviewed journals and has authored several book chapters in the pain management and anesthesiology literature. She prides herself on modern minimally invasive treatment. She also prides herself on patient education and quality communication as well as timely and efficient service.
Dr. Martina Randall, DPM
Foot and Ankle Surgeon
Martina Randall, DPM, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon. Dr. Randall specializes in foot, ankle, and lower leg surgery and has a particular interest in sports medicine. Her practice focuses on minimally invasive, arthroscopic surgery of the ankle, cartilage restoration, trauma, reconstruction, tendon and ligament repair, total ankle joint replacement, and cosmetic surgery, such as bunion and hammertoe correction.
Dr. Randall graduated magna cum laude from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and completed her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Temple University in 2014. While at Cheyney University, Dr. Randall was a member of the Women’s Basketball team, earning conference team accolades and NCAA all-academic honors.
Following medical school, Dr. Randall completed her residency at Palmetto General Hospital, specializing in deformity correction, reconstruction, and lower leg trauma, including complex peri-and intra-articular fractures. After residency, she completed one of the country’s few foot and ankle sports medicine fellowships at Virginia Mason Medical Center. While there, her subspecialty training placed an emphasis on cartilage restoration, ligament/tendon repair, and joint preserving surgical techniques of the foot and ankle, which allows patients to continue with their athletic careers and recreational activities.
During her fellowship at Virginia Mason Medical Center, she assisted the team physicians for the Seattle Seahawks(NFL), Seattle Storm(WNBA), and Seattle Sounders FC(MLS). She also serviced other sports teams, including multiple semi-professional university and high school teams in basketball, football, and track and field.
Dr. Randall is well-known for her surgical skill and dedication to teaching. In addition to her surgical expertise, she is known for her humility, kind demeanor, and patient and friendly disposition. She treats every patient like family and believes that patient education and understanding are key to achieving excellent outcomes. Dr. Randall believes in extensive non-surgical treatment options as well as advanced surgical techniques to help patients return to their previous level of function and activity.
